Recently in Misc Stuff Category

Not a lot of time to blog or read blogs these days. With my mother being discharged from the hospital, I've been running like crazy this week! It felt so good to sleep in my own bed for the last two days while my brother tends to mom - she's doing pretty good.

It's easier to list my thoughts;

*** LaTonia, thank you sooooo much for your donation in the Zen Tip jar for "my see Oprah fund!" Tickets go on sale Monday.

*** I have a fulltime job, a new contract that starts on Monday and a part time job. Talk about doing the damn thang!

*** Mom only has five more radiation treatments :)

*** The LiveStrong wristbands showed up, we are all wearing one.

*** My ipod aka ZenPod is awesome! I'm glad I got it.

*** My ibook aka ZenBook is giving me a little grief - mainly PC user to Mac user conversion issues. Thanks C for getting "The iBook For Dummies" book today! I plan to read it from cover to cover.

*** I got a very cool one of a kind backpack for my ibook on Ebay! Don't you just love Ebay?

*** C and I had a very nice walk around the lake this afternoon, we enjoyed it and plan to do it on a regular bases.

*** I want to purchase a new digital camera. I don't really want a "beginners" camera, more advanced than that, but nothing where I'll need to get my PHD to figure it out. I really don't want to go over $300 bucks in price, any suggestions?

*** I need to watch The Incredibles - got the DVD a couple of weeks ago. I heard it was very good.

*** Spring is amongst us - we had the lawn cut for the first time this year - looks great!

Easter was a bit strange this year....

Missed my mom's cooking....

We have to get her out of that hospital, and back in the kitchen....

Yet another boring azz birthday!! I've been ill with what I think is the flu all week. Having to go to work with the flu is not good - trust! Because my "new" job is with a low budget azz company I can't be out during the probationary period - well I can, I'm just subject to not get paid.

Anyhoo, I felt like "shit on a stick" all day yesterday. I was asked out to dinner, but just couldn't make it because I wasn't feeling well. Can you believe I didn't get one damn thing for my birthday??? I mean nothing, nada, zilch!

At my age, birthdays aren't such a big deal, I mean it's not like I turned 7 or 8 years old. But, who doesn't like to get gifts? I mean come on!!!!! I must have pissed off the gods or something because I've noticed a pattern of not getting anything. Oh well, I won't be buying nobody else shit either!

Someone just told me that they bought me something off my wishlist *doing the happy dance* I guess at least one person cares about me.

This has been a tiring week for me. TGIF!!!!

Guess I will list, don't feel like forming paragraphs at the moment.

1) Thanks goes out to Cheryl! I received the Jasc CD this evening! I really appreciate it. I'm going to work toward being "positively creative" too.

4) My mom was in the emergency room this week. She has been diagnosed with Cancer of the lung, bones and brain. Please remember her in your prayers.

5) I think I'm trying to catch yet another cold!

6) I almost quit my new job this week. Decided to go back yesterday - I will take it one day at a time.

7) I interviewed for another job on Monday, interviews (all three of them) went well - hopefully it will come through.

8) There are positive messages in hip hop. I love T.I.'s song Motivation. The message in his lyrics although somewhat gangsta, can really be applied to anything and be empowering. Check them out.

9) One of my good friends has a new blog! Visit LetsExplore411 and show her some blog luv!

10) I had free tickets to see The Curse and Diary of Mad Black Woman. Didn't make it! Between my mother getting sick and work I just wasn't motivated to sit in a dark movie theatre this week.

11) I will be catching up on my sleep and my magazine reading this weekend.

12) My Amazon book sales are going well, Hopluv Book Sales and Hopluv Book Sales2. Some of the books on the list have sold already. Since I'm not going to pay 40 bucks a month for a Amazon Storefront, just search the book title and ONLY purchase from Hopluv_Book_Sales. I currently have over 100 titles listed, so email me if you have a specific interest and I will let you know what I have. This intiative is to help me clear my clutter along with helping some needy kids. I will be donating proceeds to a local or national kids charity of some kind. Any suggestions?
