Thanksgiving Weekend Snippets

  • Thanksgiving Day was thoroughly enjoyable! It was a great time being sorrounded by family and friends. All of the food turned out wonderful. My brother added a few dishes - my favorite was his cheesy wild rice and shrimp casserole, damn it was good! He also made some garlic cheddar bread that was off da chain!!!!! After we stuffed ourselves to the gills, I challenged T to a foot racehuh.gifSo, we posted up outside in the middle of the street for the challenge. I don't know why or how I thought my fat azz was gonna out run a 121 lb 16 year old girl! The inertia caused by my chest "like-ta" threw me down, I don't know who was laughing the hardest me, my brother, T, C or J. I think I even pee'd a little! I'm so outta shape, I use to be able to out run my girl, can't now. We have a rematched scheduled in one month - wish me luck.

After I got my azz kicked in the race, I pulled out my new toy, a radio controlled Chrysler 300. This car is so cool! It has spinners with neon lights, a mesh grille, halogen head lights and plays "Get Yo Shine On!" The cool thing is that you can connect your ipod in the trunk and play your own music - It's tricked out better than mine, we had fun with it! Of course the neighbors were gawkin.

  • I skipped Black Friday I just didn't feel like the lines or people. There were some good deals to be had - especially that $400 laptop at Wally World. However, from what I saw on the news folks got a little crazy over them. The majority of my shopping is done online, I have few things I will pick up at a store but I try to steer clear of brick and mortar whenever possible.
  • Yesterday I watched the breaking bonaduce marathon. I had heard about this show but never caught it on the tube. This guy has some serious issues! Unlike most child stars, so no real surprise there. His wife is tougher than I would be, I would have dismissed his ass a long time ago. I like the show.
  • We ordered Unleashed via PPV. I like Jet Li and normally like his work, however this wasn't his best.
I give it 1 wing and a hot pepper!
  • Boondocks is starting to suck! And the "N"word was way overused on the last episode. The word was being used in a manner that didn't make sense to me. It seemed it was used just for the sake of using it and that is unnecessary.

Food Star

I ran across this guy while watching Iron Chef America on Food Network at 2 a.m. this morning :) the battle was Chef Armstrong vs. Chef Bobby Flay<----one of my favorites. Chef Govind Armstrong is the next rising star in the kitchen. He has a restaurant in Los Angeles called Table 8. He worked along the side of Wolfgang Puck at the age of 13. You go boy!

Iron Chef Bobby Flay won the challenge by 12 points. I'm not upset either way smile.gif

AeonFlux the new movie staring Charlize Theron will be in theatres Dec 2nd! The movie seems like it will have a "Matrix-esque" "futuristic" type feel, which excites me smile.gif

Apparently, the film was adapted from characters from a MTV animated series. There is also a comic book miniseries that will explain the story that leads up to the motion picture on the website.

Hopefully Charlize won't let me down..... if nothing else, I'm expecting dynamic action and awesome effects!

My plans are to spend a quiet Thanksgiving with my family. This will be the first without my mother. I'm already missing the taste of her food! She would want us to eat and be together tomorrow...and we shall.

I wanted some non traditional items this year for dinner to add a little interest to the meal. I'm actually a "foodie" I love Food Network, specifically Emeril Lagasse, Tyler Florence, Bobby Flay, Ming Tsai and Paula Dean. But I'm a "cheapie" when it comes to buying the sometimes expensive ingredients cool.gif

What's for dinner?

Emeril's Mustard Crusted Rack of Lamb

I was really excited about the airing of Everybody Hates Chris, however, after watching the first couple of episodes I really wasn't "feelin" it.

I continued to watch the show, now I'm addicted! I guess it just needed to grow on me biggrin.gif
I think that Tyler James Williams (Chris) is really cute, and Tichina Arnold and Terry Crews
are funny as the parents. I'm not a huge Chris Rock fan, but I think he has done well with this one!
Catch it Thursdays on UPN 8:00 ET/PT.
