Ru.n's House aired tonight. I didn't have high hopes for it (what, another damn reality show!!), but was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was. Run has a very nice family. The wife has been step-mother to the three oldest kids for twelve years, and mother to the two younger boys.
The five children are Vanessa, 22, a model; Angela, 18, a straight-A student and aspiring fashion designer; JoJo, 16, a rapper; Diggy, 10, an aspiring rapper; and Russell Jr., 9.
The kids are well mannered and respectful. Run and Vanessa seem to have done a great job with them! Run had a sit down with the boys after Angela's graduation. He shared the following wisdom with them; "Life gives to the giver and takes from the taker" inwhich he had them repeat there times.

You and I are on the same wavelength. I blogged about this show as well, today. I think it's good to see some hip hop parents with good old-fashioned values.
I did a Sweet 16 rant post the other day and had to edit it when I watched Run's House last night. Finally a family with values on reality TV. I know he a minister and all but I had my doubts. TIVO is set.
dang it! i straight missed it! i wanted to see it simply because i'm interested to see what rev. run will do with his status and spiritual profess... thanks for the heads up - send a sista a reminder ;-)
