Yes, it's snowing today in Dallas! Which is odd in and of itself. I decided to leverage the opportunity to work from home today *tongue in check* thing is, I haven't done one work related item. Well, yea I did review some mock-ups of wireframes rendered in html - that was only for about 30 mins this morning, so it was work - just not much.

I have, however had lunch at Kostas a great Greek restaurant in Plano, picked up a few gifts in the mall and stopped by Best Buy.

I'll be working from home tomorrow too

I joined Bl.ockbuster On.line about a month ago. How it works is that for $17 bucks a month you can get up to three movies at a time(although they have sent me four movies more than once). You add titles to your "queue", when you send one back, they send you a movie from your list.

I've decide to play DVD critic :) and rate the movies I have recently viewed. Nothing elaborate, just one or two sentences on my thoughts about the movie. A simple A-F rating system, F being the worst A being excellent. Feel free to comment with your thoughts about the movies I've rated. But remember, it's my damn blog and my opinion is really the only one that matters :) Just kidding!

Matrix Revolutions [WS] (2003)

C This actually wasn't as good as the first two installations of the Matrix. I think it was kinda thrown together, probably because they filmed two and three at the same time. Gotta love Keanu though, he is "The One"!

Breakin' All the Rules [Special Edition] (2004)

B Only cause Gabrielle is so damn cute!

Soul Plane [Unrated] (2004)

D This is some straight up ghetto shit!

Walking Tall (2004)

C The Rock's fine ass is the only reason why I viewed this one. It's an OK movie.

Never Die Alone (2004)

B I didn't have high expectations for this one. However, I was pleasantly surprised! DMX was great in this one. It was a good story, very original.

Day After Tomorrow [WS] (2004)

C A little far fetched, but pretty good!

Along Came Polly [WS] (2004)

C I'm a Ben Stiller fan but this was lack luster. It was funny tho.

Envy (2004)

F Another Ben Stiller flick. This was long and very stupid, come on Ben!

Collateral [WS] (2004)

D I don't know what all the hype is about on this one. I was truly disappointed! Jamie was ugly in this movie, Jada looked hard and Tom Cruise with the white hair - NO. The entire movie was shot in the dark. I went and took a dump (I know TMI) while it was on. Hated it!

Terminal [WS] (2004)

C This was OK.... Tom Hanks worked that accent! The movie was extremely slow and also displayed how Americans lack compassion and can be so rude to people we don't understand.

Bourne Supremacy [WS] (2004)

D I LOVE Matt Damon! But I did not love this one. Jason Bourne sucked! This movie was rather dark and creeped at a snail's pace, nothing like the first one. I hope this it for the Bourne trilogies.

Human Stain (2003)

B This was great! A must see!

Hero (2002)

F HATED IT!!! Another hyped up movie that I can't understand why? The subtitles flew by, if you blinked you miss two frames. It ain't no Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon!

Duplex (2003

B Ben Stiller again! But this one was funny as hell! Drew Barrymore was funny in this one too. Twist ending, if you want a good laugh check this one out.

Watermelon Woman (1996)

D This is interesting, and not good!

Something's Gotta Give (2003)

B Jack Nicholson and Diane Keeton. I enjoyed this one! Oh and Keanu is in this one! This is a good one to check out.

Man on Fire (2004)

D Not Denzel's best work. The cinematography in this one was interesting - I didn't like it!

I had a pretty relaxing weekend. The big plans for Christmas shopping unfortunately did not come to pass....

For some reason I just CAN'T get into the spirit this year. I'm not certain as to why, perhaps it's all the hours I've been putting in for this company I have an engagement with - and the recent discovery I won't get paid for all the hours I've worked, maybe it's the distant on/off relationship with me and my family and thier lack to include me and my daughter in the "family" holiday plans or perhaps it's the recent problems with my teenager which has forced me to inflict "tough love" and refrain from purchasing gifts that she doesn't deserve because of her total disregards for my rules and failures in school.

I actually haven't purchased any qifts. I only have a few gifts to buy anyway so, guess I will just wait until the last minute as usual. I went with "C" to the mall Friday night. I noticed that althought there were plenty of people there, none were really buying a lot - most folks didn't have any shopping bags at all. Things were not "picked over" either, I think it's the suckie prices. Perhaps people are just more careful about how they spend their money these days.

Saturday we went to the "rich" folks mall and walked around for a little while. Went in the A.pple S.tore and watched people pick up i.Pods like they were on sale for $1.99 instead of $249.00! I'm trying to decide if I want to cross back into the M.ac world - lovin the i.book. Anyway, I'm just not feeling the i.Pod although very cute, it doesn't fit my lifestyle, I simply don't need access to 3598384848584 songs. I listen to music on my computer and my car stereo - works for me.

We had a nice seafood (my fav) dinner at Rockfish I had seafood gumbo and fried oysters, she had a delicious salmon salad, between the food and the margaritas we rolled out of the place as two very satisfied customers. We had the nerve to leave there and go to S.tarbucks for C.armel M.acchiatos, no foam add whip and extra carmel with desserts. Went home to discover how bored we were and decided to go out to look for some fun. Instead of fun, we sat in a major traffic jam! We finally got to our destination and saw that the crowd had obiviously found somewhere else to go. Since it had been 5 or 6 hours since we last ate, we decided to grab a bite at Cafe Brazil where we had chili which was off the chain, served in a bread bowl and fruit crepes for dessert.

Today, no reason to get up until around 2 p.m. we put ribs and a pork loin on the grill. Boy was it good! Tommorrow starts the grind for me, no one else has to get up - I'm jealous!
