20 Y.O. is easily the best CD of 2006!!!

Honestly, I didn't have high hopes for this album. I mean I like "Call on Me" but it ain't all that! The CD was only $10 bucks at Target, so I felt like I didn't have a lot to lose.

Boy, it was money well spent!!! There is hardly a bad track on the album. Right out of the gate - tracks 1 -5 are slammin! DO NOT sleep on Janet's 20 Y.O.

I had these a couple of days ago on work "grill day". They tasted so good, I wanted to make them at home. The plan was the do them on the grill today - being Labor Day and all....

Well, it rained all day today, so I decided to do them indoors. They came out great! Everyone loved them. Super simple - I photographed the process. Try them.

Step1

Buy some damn Jalapenos! Remember, however many you buy will be doubled since they will be cut in half. So, you need to cut them in half and scrap the seeds out - that's the hot stuff! I used a spoon to scrap the seeds. Be careful not to touch your eyes!

Step2

Mix together plain cream cheese, a half teaspoon of salt and garlic salt with cheddar cheese. The amount of cream cheese and cheddar cheese will depend on how many peppers you have.

Step3

Cut bacon strips in half. I used a package of Maple Hickory flavored bacon. And I also used turkey bacon on some for the health conscious folks.

Step4

Stuff the cream cheese mixture into the jalapeno halves.

Step5

Wrap the bacon around the jalapeno and secure with a toothpick. I soaked the toothpicks in water so that they wouldn't burn. The toothpicks keep the bacon on board :)

Step6

All wrapped up and ready!

Step7

At this point you would put them on the grill, or in the oven at 450 degrees. I used my George Foreman Grill since I couldn't use the grill outside due to the rain.

Step7.1

Cooking nicely!

Step8

The finished product - yum!

I decided to do a food blog on Vox. Check out Hopluv Talks Food....

Nip Tuck Season 4

Sanaa Latham is one of the new cast members! I love this show, and I'm so excited that she has been added to the cast. Sanaa will play the new owner of McNamara/Troy named Michelle Latham. The character is described as a "powerful and sexy woman in her 30s" who will now run the company as her wealthy 70-year-old husband looks on. The husband is played by Larry Hagman.

Nip Tuck is an excellent show, but I can appreciate the addition of a sista - they couldn't have picked a more talented, cute and sexy woman to bring on board either.

Ready, set, TIVO!!!

C and I went to the Crossroads Market Bookstore to people watch and of course soak up the free WIFI while surfin and slurpin iced coffee with desserts. I think the AC was on the brink today because it was hot as hell in that place! I started to feel dizzy and somewhat crazy from the heat.

Amidst my craziness, brought on by boiler room temperatures I started to play with Photo Booth. I have to say this application is one of the reasons I bought my MacBook. I can sit and play with it for hours!

Since T has been working, C and I find ourselves hanging out a couple of times a week to kill time before picking her up - which is normally around 10 PM. Actually, it gives us and excuse to hang out at some of the coffee houses we like that offer free WIFI. And I am a free WIFI lover.....all businesses should have free internet damn it!!!!

Here are five of my favorite places.....

Buli's Cafe I like Buli's because it is very laid back with nice seating and faux mink wall coverings and pillows. It is nestled amongst the clubs and bars in the "gay" area of town, so there is never a short supply of interesting characters to look at and the patrons are mostly gay. They have very good drinks and serve great panini sandwiches in old tv icon metal character lunchboxes.

Dunn Bros Coffee This place is really becoming a favorite since it is very close to my house. Very good iced coffees! Dunn Bros also serves beer and wine..whoooo hooo!!! And the really cool thing about them is that most every night of the week they have "Open Mic" night which allows local artist 15 min sets to perform.

Obzeet's This place is VERY cool. I really love going here! It's a tropical bar/restaraunt and also a home decor and gift shop. They have drink specials on Mondays which is when we typically go. The food is off the chain - I love, love, love the Obzeet's Nutty Blue Cheese Vinaigarette Salad with chicken and the Prego Steak Sandwich! Both are slap yo momma good :) The last two times we've gone their WIFI has been flaky or worst - down, which sucks! The food and drinks are so good I let them slide with the sucky internet connection - but they need to get their shit ta-gether!

Buffalo Wild Wings
This is your typical sports bar and grill. It can be loud on occassion with all the hoopin and hollerin associated with folks watching sports on giant televisions. The wings are good. The drinks are good. The internet is free. Love it!

Cafe Brazil This place is awesome too! They serve breafast, lunch and dinner and have great coffee. I always have the El Gordo crepe. Check out the description - "Crepe with Melted Cheddar, homemade Chorizo, Onions, Bacon, Tomatoes, Potatoes and Sliced Jalapenos, topped with our Spicy Cream Sauce" All that and free internet too? Can't beat it!

Where do you go for free WIFI?

Well I started at Company B on Tuesday. Things are progressing well considering today was my second day there. My Manager flew in to meet and orientate me on Tuesday. She seems really cool, and I'm certain she won't be micro managing me! The team I will be managing seem to be real cool - a bunch of System Administrators and Technicians, all men except for one woman. It's going to be wierd working in an office that is prodominately male, but I will adjust. Now, if my Manager could just get my VPN, and other access setup on my laptop I'll be in business.

On to other randomness, I'm loving WorkOut on the Bravo Network.

The show is actually over - with the last show airing this week. There were only 6 episodes done, probably to see if the ratings would be good enough to make it a regular. Jackie runs and manages her own fitness facility that caters to celebrities and high profile clients. The show features how she runs her business and her lesbian relationship with Mimi - who is a real bitch! I hope they bring the show back!

For the last two afternoons we've had a threat for thunderstorms accompanied with a lot of thundering. Whenever it thunders these two nuts, especially Bentley shake like they are epileptic. Bentley is so crazy, he will come and sit on my foot, or look at me or C as if to say "are you going to save me?" We just laugh at his little crazy ass!!
BERLIN BENTLEY

We are getting a West Elm here in Dallas - I'm excited! I'm not sure when it will actually open yet. They closed a Virgin Record Superstore a few months ago and when I saw the sign go up for West Elm I was elated. Who needs those high ass CDs at Virgin anyway!

Speaking of cool stores.... I love Z-Galleries
I like it for all the "zen" inspired accessories they have. They have a huge buddha that I want, but it is rather expensive and I'm a cheap skate. I got this one for Mother's Day this year.

I wish I had more to talk about..but I don't.
